Stephanie Sigman, a Mexican-American actress. Her breakout role was in Miss Bala (2011), the Mexican crime drama film. She also appeared in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman was a major character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both series. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico and was the daughter of her Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. She is an U.S. citizen through her father. Her father, the professional baseball athlete Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. She began her career on Mexican television before making her debut on film in Rio de Oro. In 2011 she played the lead character of Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film Miss Bala. [6] The film was picked as the Mexican entry in the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards. it didn't make the cut. In recognition of her film performance, Sigman was nominated in 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award. [10][11] In 2011, she was in Catalina Aguado, the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. In 2013, Sigman starred with Pioneer in which was a Norwegian thriller.
