Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946 to a poor family with 12 kids eventually included, discovered early that she was able to escape suffering through her vivid imagination. Before she was able to write and read, she had already composed the songs she wrote herself. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eighteen. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. That same year, she released her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. While still in highschool, she made her name locally but dreamed about having a bigger stage. She relocated to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show needed a new singer at around the time. Parton was hired in the year 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton wrote I Will Always love You to Wagoner following their split. It reached number one. The first time in 1974.
